at the top of 2025, i was selected to work on two beautification murals, prior to super bowl lix, “earhart food truck plaza” and “guardians of the garden”. from the recycled paint, i created abstract works that embody the spirit of new orleans and its tenacious “usin’ watchu got” mentality. like every innovative black mama that would “make it enough”, i studied them. i was inspired by their creativity, their vibrancy, their story telling, but most importantly, their encouragement for me to be different. eclectic. strange. because while they were doing what needed to be done, “making it enough” was survival. and I wanted to thrive.
